DAY #20 - SOUTH PORTLAND - SNOW ISLAND

JULY 31, 2007

First off I would like to apologize to everyone for not keeping up with our blog. We have been having major problems gaining adequate connections for the transfer of photos to the blog. At this point I would have to say that Verizon Wireless is inadequate for the type of cruising that we do. We like to venture as far as possible from civilization and town centers where Verizon is concentrated.

Today we really start our summer vacation. Up to this point it has been a mad dash to get stuff done and get to Maine in time to pick up Peter and Dave. Up until this time it has been pretty much a motor boat trip (boring). Now we can relax and get some sailing done. We will start out with a gentle introduction to Maine for Peter and Dave. That means settled anchorages and warm water for swimming.

Today we left Portland circled Websters Rock lighthouse and proceeded on to Jewell Island which was overrun with boats. So we continued on to Snow Island. Everyone got in a swim in the "warm" water.
