SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2008
After a starry night the sun rose in a bright blue clear sky. Turning forward we could clearly see the hills of Mt. Desert Island in the distance. What a difference. It was as if we had turned a page and left the clouds and fog behind. A welcome sight indeed. Before long we started to spot lobster trap buoys on the calm surface. We were very thankful that we had planned to arrive on the coast in the daylight. We proceeded to Baker Island where we had planned to wait for our new friends on their Cape Dory 33 "Amante", who were traveling behind us from Shelburne. We dropped the hook at 9:00am (Nova Scotia Atlantic time). We were asleep within minutes.
