DAY #51 - HOG ISLAND TO SOUTHWEST HARBOR, MAINE

SEPTEMBER 5TH, 2008

Time to restock. We headed over to Northeast Harbor for diesel, water, and the first block ice since we left the States. We then moved over to Southwest Harbor where we went ashore and walked several miles to a real grocery store and restocked our fresh meat and cheese supply as well as a few other perishable items.

While we were ashore the fog moved in and we could barely find our boat in the harbor. With our chores done we went back to shore and joined the seagulls in a feast at our favorite lobster dock, Beals Lobster. After the wine, clams, corn, and lobster were consumed we walked downtown and got raspberry yogurt waffle cones. Yum. Feeling properly spoiled we paddled our way through the fog and darkness to our boat. Luckily we had a couple of solar lights on our stern which allowed us to find our boat.
