SEPTEMBER 26, 2007
Today we headed across Penobscott Bay, through Muscle Ridge Channel, past Burnt Island, across Muscongus Bay, around Pemaquid Point, and up Johns Bay to Poorhouse Cove.
We decided to visit Poorhouse Cove because we had head that some fellow Cape Dory owners had a camp there, however, this late in the season the cove appeared to be deserted except for a couple of local lobster boats.
Poorhouse Cove gets the top award so far this trip for the thickest, most slimmy, black, and sticky mud bottom. The stuff even stained the deck of our boat even though we rinsed it off almost immediately.
