OCTOBER 5, 2007
We got up early so that we could ride the ebbing current west on the Cape Cod Canal and down Buzzard's Bay to New Bedford. The fog was as thick as pea soup but thanks to GPS we were able to navigate fairly well. Our only fear was the ships, tugs, and barges that frequent the area so we hugged the edge of the channel as much as possible.
While at Isle of Shoals we had called the West Marine in New Bedford and ordered a replacement voltage regulator. Considering that we had had two failures so far we were not going to get caught without a spare.
We took a slip at Popes Island Municipal Marina which is right across the street from West Marine.
