DAY #25 - DAMARISCOVE ISLAND TO HARBOR & HALL ISLANDS

AUGUST 5, 2007

Today we set sail for Harbor & Hall Islands in Muscongus Bay. These are two privately owned islands that together form a very nice sheltered harbor. Despite being private, courteous visitors are welcome to explore Harbor Island thanks to the Davis family.

We arrived at low tide so the first thing we did was go ashore and gather a five gallon bucket full of mussels. We hung them in the water off the side of our boat in a mesh bag to purge for a period of time. That also gave the white wine (also in a mesh bag over the side) time to chill. Then we steamed them in our pressure cooker and feasted. Yum.
