DAY #74 - OPEECHEE TO SW HARBOR

SEPTEMBER 24, 2007

We woke to a sunny day and hauled our anchor and headed for Southwest Harbor.

After paddling in to Beal's Lobster Pier we enjoyed our traditional final lobster & clam feast. While there we could tell the locals were making the transition out of the tourist season. Summer fishing charter boats were getting filled with lobster pots to keep them busy through the off season. We then walked to town for ice cream. Unfortunately, our favorite ice cream place was closed so we went to a different place and got to experience "cold slab" mixed ice cream for the first time --- always new experiences --- not necessarily better but new anyway.
