VALLEY COVE, SOMMES SOUND

DAY #23 - AUGUST 4TH, 2009

We woke to another pretty sunny day with the fog still rolling around in the early morning.

A typical morning sight when looking across the Sound.

We decided to do another walk today. Around here trees frequently seem to grow right out of the rocks since there is not much soil covering them.

Valley Cove and our Cape Dory Cutter at anchor.

Sharon scrambling up the rock trail around Valley Cove.

The biggest patch of blueberries that we have ever seen was right along side the main road.

Beech Cliff Trail.

When stone steps would not do, several iron ladders filled in the gaps up the face of the cliff.

View of Echo Lake from Beech Cliff trail.

The views were surprisingly good from the cliffs. This trail was well worth the effort!
