DAY #55 VALLEY COVE TO EASTERN HARBOR, CAPE SPLIT

SEPTEMBER 4, 2007

It is time to go. This sitting around gets old fast. Today we left Somes Sound behind and headed around Schoodic Point and Island.

The wind was North @ 20 - 30 knots so we had a very nice reach "Down East". We felt very fortunate to have such clear, cool, and windy weather since this area is known for its fog and limited visibility.

We passed Petit Manan Island Lighthouse to port and continued on to Eastern Harbor, Cape Split.

We expected a small harbor with a few houses and lobster boats but we were greeted by a large double harbor with a town and many houses along the shore.

The only time we saw a hint of fog was off shore when the sun was setting.
