Bad weather was predicted in a few days and it was time to start migrating south so we head out early.

We passed "Cockhold" light, which is off Boothbay, as we headed southwest.

Next was Seguin Island off to port.

We passed a typical Maine working harbor while going up the New Meadows River.

In order to enter the protected "Basin" one must go through a fairly narrow cut in the rocky shore. This is a perfect spot for an osprey nest.

"Do you have your wood in yet?" A typical fall day in Maine.

The Basin is a nearly landlocked lake of seawater which is very protected from any weather on the outside.
