DAY # 24 - SHELBURNE, NOVA SCOTIA

AUGUST 9TH, 2008

We decided to spend another day at Shelburne. The yacht club is just right and the people are wonderful. Yacht clubs in Nova Scotia are very simple and the price is right. You actually get what you pay for. The people are very down to earth and extremely helpful. Unbelievable.

We did a short tour of the Amistad. Everything is so massive on those old sailing vessels.

Then we walked the "rail trail" that goes around the harbor and is to become part of the Trans Canada Trail.

The icing on the cake occurred in the evening. One of the schooner racers (a transplanted New Zealander) came over to our boat and went through our entire Nova Scotia cruising guide with us while pointing out what we should be sure to see and what we should not waste our time with. We could not have asked for more.
